Bridal fashion 2023
Today we look into one of the cutest trends in the world of bridal fashion – embroidered bridal veils!
In recent years, we’ve seen a rise in popularity of embroidered bridal veils, and I’m not surprised: embroidery is a classic and timeless embellishment -option, which not only adds elegance, sophistication and intricate details to any piece of fabric, but also adds a personal touch to the design. And when it comes to bridal veils, embroidery takes it to a whole new level.
Different Styles
You can think of different variations when it comes to embroidered veils. From delicate floral designs to bold geometric patterns, there is an embroidery style for every bride. One popular trend is incorporating personal touches into the embroidery, such as the bride and groom’s initials or wedding date, a favourite flower or the flowers that symbolise the country (think of Megan Markle’s veil with Commonwealth flowers).
Another trend is combining the embroidery with different types of fabric, such as lace, tulle or silk. This creates a multidimensional and enchanting effect. And with so many variations in embroidery to choose from, you can perfectly match your veil to your wedding dress.
Last but not least, an embroidered wedding veil offers the opportunity to customise it to each bride’s style and personality. Whether you are looking for something simple and elegant, or bold and intricate, there is an embroidery design everyone.
And that makes this trend instantly timeless … because what bride doesn’t dream of having her outfit be unique for this special moment in her life?
For myself in 1987, it was the veil that turned a simple, cotton dress by Laura Ashley into a bridal outfit:
